Dirty Up Yourself (Wes' Light-On-Da-Vox Mix) is finally complete. Some of you may have heard it as a track entitled Jackin' It Up. However, it has been remastered and I have snatched the old Foremost Poet's vocal loop out. This track has some legs of its own and can walk without the support of vocals.
Starts out with some thick kick drums, moves into the bass line, and then dueling instrument madness ensues, with some surprises in the keyboard work later in the track. The bass line also reaches some very low points in parts of the song, so if you are just relying on a laptop speaker to listen you will miss about 30% of this track.
Speaking of vocal work, though, it is something that I am lacking in some tracks. Other than sampling, I have no real source of vocals (well, I could sing them myself, but I'll spare you). So if anyone reading this knows of anyone who may be interested (or you may be interested yourself) in getting your name on some house records and sharing some royalties, the get in touch. Male, female, or whatever else, I'm up for giving your vocal work a shot. If you'd like to know the stylings I'd like to do.. well, I'm into neo-soul stuff, like Jill Scott, and the deep house vocals like Jay-J, Miguel Migs / Lisa Shaw, and other vocal-filled deep house and garage vocal tracks.
